York Regional Police are looking for a female suspect after an armed hold-up at a Newmarket coffee shop.

According to police, a lone woman entered a coffee shop in the area of Leslie and Gorham streets at around 11:40 p.m. on Oct. 22 and placed an order with the employee behind the counter.

While the till was open, the woman demanded money from the employee and indicated that she had a gun, police said. She then made off with an undisclosed quantity of cash.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police say they are now looking for a woman who was wearing a grey winter coat with fur on the hood, white gloves and red pants with a white stripe down the leg.
