Toronto police are asking for the public's help in tracking the movements of a man accused of murder in connection with his mother’s death prior to his arrest.

Linda Scott, 65, was discovered dead inside her apartment on Cedarvale Avenue, in the Danforth and Woodbine avenues area, at around noon on June 2.

Police said she had been stabbed multiple times.

Two days later, the victim’s 25-year-old son Justin Scott was arrested in a west-end Montreal neighbourhood on a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree murder.

He has since been transported back to Toronto, where he appeared in court Wednesday.

Scott remains in custody ahead of a scheduled court appearance on June 22.

Investigators are trying to track Scott’s movements between May 30 and June 4, while in Toronto and Montreal.

Police believe he was renting either an apartment or a hotel room.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
