A 27-year-old Richmond Hill man was arrested for impaired driving early Tuesday morning after he reportedly called police and asked them for help starting his car.

Police say they received a non-emergency call from the man shortly after 2:30 a.m. providing his location and requesting their assistance.

Officers then located the man’s car on King Road east of Bathurst Street in King Township a short time later.

When they arrived on scene, police say the car was running and the driver was showing obvious signs of being impaired by alcohol.

The driver was subsequently taken to District #4 headquarters, where he was given a breath test and blew over the legal limit.
