Getting in and around downtown will be a bit trickier on Sunday with a slew of road closures in place.
Here is a rundown:
Khalsa Day parade
The parade, which celebrates the founding of the Sikh community, is scheduled to take place Sunday afternoon starting at 12:45 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. It will start at the CNE grounds (from the Better Living Centre) and will make its way onto Lake Shore Boulevard West from Ontario Driver. From there, the parade will travel east towards York Street and then north towards University Avenue. It will continue north on University Avenue and east on Armoury Street before ending at Nathan Phillips Square.
Backs in Motion run and the Balanse Bum Run
The Bum Run is scheduled for 8 a.m. and will affect traffic around Queen's Park. The run will take place on curb lanes on College, Spadina, Bloor, Bay and St. Joseph as well as Queen's Park Crescent. The only full closure will be on Queen's Park Crescent. Both directions will be closed between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. between College and Bloor streets. TTC will also be rerouted around area. The Backs in Motion run is taking place north of the city in Willowdale. The event starts at 8 a.m. at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College on Leslie Street. Finch Avenue and Leslie Street will be reduced to one lane so drivers should expect some congestion.
TTC closures
To further complicate things, the Scarborough RT will also be shut down this weekend. No trains will be running along Line 3 between Kennedy Station and McCowan Station.
The closure will last the entire weekend, from April 25 until April 26.
Shuttle busses will stop along regular SRT routes to accomodate commuters.
