Drivers getting around the city this weekend will have a number of road closures to deal with to accommodate the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. The rolling closures begin Saturday in preparation for the run and continue Sunday as the marathon gets underway.

The marathon begins near University Avenue and Dundas Street downtown Sunday at 8:45 a.m. However runners will cover a wide area of the city stretching from High Park to the Beaches as the event stretches into the afternoon.

Here’s a full list of road closures in effect to accommodate the marathon this weekend:

Closures beginning Saturday

  • Bay Street will be closed from Queen Street West to Dundas Street West from noon Saturday until 7 p.m. on Sunday
  • Hagerman Street will be closed from Elizabeth Street to Bay Street from noon Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday
  • Elizabeth Street will be closed from Hagerman Street to Dundas Street West from noon Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday
  • Albert Street will be closed from Bay Street to Court House Driveway from noon Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday

Closures beginning Sunday

  • University Avenue from Front Street West to Dundas Street West from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Bay Street will be closed from Lake Shore Boulevard West to Queen Street West from 4 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Armoury Street from University Avenue to Chestnut Street from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Centre Avenue Southbound from Dundas Street West to Armoury Street from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Chestnut Street from Armoury Street to Metropolitan Hotel from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Queen Street West from Simcoe Street to York Street from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Richmond Street West from Simcoe Street to York Street from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • York Street from Richmond Street West to Queen Street West from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Lake Shore Boulevard from Windermere Avenue to Parliament Street from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

  • Front Street East: Eastbound lanes from Jarvis Street to Church Street from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Wellington Street between Church Street and Bay Street from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  
  • Queen Street West from York Street to Yonge Street from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  
  • Queens Quay: Eastbound lanes between Bay Street and Parliament Street from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • University Avenue /Queens Park from Dundas Street West to Bloor Street West from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Bloor Street West from Bay Street to Bathurst Street from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
  • Bathurst Street from Bloor Street West to Lake Shore Boulevard West from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
  • Fort York Boulevard: Westbound lanes between Bathurst Street and Lake Shore Boulevard West from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Cherry Street South from Lake Shore Boulevard East to Commissioners Street from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Commissioners Street: Eastbound lanes from Cherry Street South to Leslie Street from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Carlaw Street from Commissioners Street to Lake Shore Boulevard East from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Lake Shore Boulevard East from Parliament Street to Woodbine Avenue. from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Woodbine Avenue from Lake Shore Boulevard East to Queen Street East from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Queen Street East from Woodbine Avenue to Beech Avenue from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Coxwell Avenue: Northbound lanes from Lake Shore Boulevard East to Eastern Avenue from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Eastern Avenue/Front Street from Kingston Road to Jarvis Street from 8 a.m. 3 p.m.
  • Sackville Street from Eastern Avenue to King Street East from 8 a.m. 3 p.m.
  • King Street East from Sackville Street to Lower River Street from 8 a.m. 3 p.m.
  • Lower River Street from Queen Street East to Bayview Avenue from 8 a.m. 3 p.m.

Exhibition Place detours

Anyone arriving at Exhibition Place from the west Sunday will have to use the Spadina off-ramp and follow the detour signs.

The Jameson off-ramp will be opened on Sunday at 11 a.m. to provide direct access into the Exhibition Place grounds.
