There will be a number of road closures in the city this morning as runners hit the road for the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon.

The race begins at the North York Civic Centre at 7:30 a.m. but road closures begin at 6 a.m.

There will be closures along Yonge Street from Finch Avenue to Davenport, where the main portion of the race takes place.

There will also be some lane restrictions in the area bounded by Bayview Avenue, South Kingsway, Lake Shore Boulevard and Finch Avenue.

Some ramps to the Gardiner and DVP will also be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. today:

  • Gardiner Expressway eastbound ramp to Jarvis Street: Access to Jarvis closed but motorist can still access Lake Shore Boulevard.
  • Gardiner Expressway ramp to northbound Spadina: Acess to westbound Lake Shore Boulevard closed
  • Spadina ramp to the westbound Gardiner Expressway: Access to westbound Lake Shore Boulevard closed
  • Don Valley Parkway Bayview/Bloor ramp: Access to southbound Bayview Avenue closed
