Police are investigating after a Scarborough gas station was held-up at gunpoint early Thursday morning and an apparent getaway vehicle in the robbery was abandoned near Pickering.

According to police, two masked male suspects entered the gas station near Kingston Road and Sheppard Avenue at around 5 a.m., produced a silver handgun and demanded cash from an employee.

The suspects then allegedly fled the scene with an unknown quantity of money from the register.

A short time later, police say a vehicle was abandoned after it crashed into a pole a short distance away near Kingston Road and Whites Road in Durham Region.

Police tell CP24 that they believe the vehicle is related to the robbery and have seized it for further investigation.

Two male suspects are being sought in conenction with the robbery. One of the suspects is described as white while the other one is described as black. Police say one of the men was also carrying a bag.
