The TTC has some good news for cyclists who regularly use the Toronto subway system.

Speaking at Davisville Station on Tuesday morning, TTC Chair Josh Colle announced that 10 stations are now equipped with bike repair stops, complete with tools and a pump to fill up your tires.

“What we are trying to do is give people an option for those who want to make that first or last leg to transit on a bike,” Colle said. “It is more desirable now and more attractive.”

The stations featuring the new equipment, which is free to use, include Bathurst, Downsview, Dupont, Finch, Kipling, Keele, Davisville, Kennedy, Pape and Spadina.

“I think what we have been trying to do over the last year and a bit is to try and focus on customer service,” Colle added.

“My hope is that we would have these at every station to pair it and match it with bike parking to make it as attractive as possible for a cyclist to choose the TTC.”

The cost for each bike repair stop is estimated to be about $1,200, including installation and equipment.

“I think for that money spent it is well worth it to give that customer service enhancement to our riders,” Colle said.
