A man in his 70’s is dead after being struck by a vehicle in the Dufferin Street and Rutherford Road area in Vaughan Friday morning.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. at Forest Run Boulevard and Dufferin Hill Drive, York Regional Police said.

The vehicle – a white GMC Safari van – was driven by a man in his 20’s, police said. He remained at the scene following the collision. No charges have been laid.

This is the second fatal accident in the area in just over a week. On Dec. 6, a female pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit and run collision at Dufferin Hill Drive and Apple Blossom Drive. Later that day police charged a 47-year-old man who turned himself in to police.
