The province’s Special investigations Unit has been called in after Halton police responded to a call about shots fired in a Halton Hills home Saturday.
Halton police responded to calls about gunfire at a home on Hillside Drive just after 2 p.m.
“While on scene, the actions of an individual within the residence necessitated the notification of the Ontario Special Investigations Unit,” Halton police said in a statement.
The SIU is an arms-length agency called in to investigate whenever an officer is involved in a death of serious injury.
Halton police said they would not release any further information about the case while the SIU is investigating.
