DETROIT -- Geological experts say a small earthquake centred in southwestern Michigan has been felt around the state, other parts of the Upper Midwest and in southern Ontario.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the 4.2-magnitude temblor was recorded shortly after noon Saturday. Its epicentre was about 14 kilometres southeast of Kalamazoo.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.

People have reported feeling the earthquake in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin.

Natural Resources Canada says it was also lightly felt in Waterloo, Toronto, Windsor, London, Lambton Shores and Owen Sound.
