Police have released a surveillance camera image of a man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on the subway earlier this month.

Police say the man was on a westbound subway train heading towards Royal York Station on Sept. 8 when he approached the girl, engaged her in conversation and then sexually assaulted her.

The man then got off the train at Islington Station, according to police.

He is described as white, in his 40s, with tanned skin, a medium build, short dark-coloured hair and a brown goatee. He was last seen wearing a white shirt with horizontal stripes, dark shorts and red shoes.
