A 57-year-old man has been charged with second-murder in connection with the stabbing death of his father in Brampton on Wednesday.

Police were called to a residence on Fleetwood Crescent near Clark Boulevard for a reported stabbing at 12:30 p.m.

Once on scene, police say they located an 82-year-old man suffering from “obvious signs of trauma.”

The victim was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Police have since identified the victim as Michael Narine, of Brampton.

The victim's son Gregory Narine was arrested at the scene and was subsequently charged with second-degree murder.

Police say that they believe the homicide was an “isolated incident” and that there is no concern for public safety.

A cause of death has not yet been released.
