Toronto police have released images of a suspect after a man grabbed keys from two women in underground parking garages in the Dorset Park area last week, leaving one of them with a broken elbow and ankle.

The incidents took place less than an hour apart on Sept. 24.

At around 2:30 p.m. a man entered a parking garage near Ellesmere Road and Mondeo Drive, police said in a news release.

The man approached a 29-year-old woman and grabbed her keys, but there were no car keys on the bunch, police said. The man then fled the area.

About 45 minutes later at around 3:15 p.m., the same man entered another underground parking garage at Kennedy Road and Glamorgan Avenue.

Police allege the man loitered in the garage, waiting for a victim.

Police say the man eventually approached a 51-year-old woman who was pushing a child in a stroller, grabbed the woman’s keys and then ran to her car.

The woman leaned into the car to try to prevent the man from getting away, but she was thrown to the ground. The man then took off in the vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The woman sustained a broken ankle, a broken elbow and cuts in the incident.

Police say they are now looking for a suspect described as a black male between 25 and 30 years of age. He stands five-foot-eleven to six feet tall and has black hair and a muscular build. He was wearing blue jeans, black shoes and a grey hoodie with black sleeves.
