A 22-year-old man charged in a hit-and-run that left a cyclist dead early Friday monring has been remanded into custody.

Miguel Oliveira appeared in court at Old City Hall Sunday morning after turning himself in to police at 11 Division Saturday evening.

Oliveira is charged with failure to remain at the scene of an accident causing death in connection with a hit-and-run early Friday.

The victim in the incident, elementary school teacher Tomer Samson, was killed after being struck by two vehicles while crossing Davenport Road along Lansdowne Avenue around 6:45 a.m.
