Peel police are searching for a suspect following an attempted break and enter in Mississauga early Wednesday morning.

According to police, a woman was sleeping in the main floor bedroom of her residence located on Sherobee Road, in the Hurontario Street and Queen Elizabeth Way area, when she was awoken by the sounds of a man attempting to remove the screen from a window at around 2:30 a.m.

The man, who was performing an indecent act, fled when the woman woke up.

He is described as black, approximately 30 years old, five-foot-seven, with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing denim jeans.

Police are reminding residents to keep windows and doors secured at all times.
