A suspect wanted in connection with the alleged abduction and gang sexual assault of a woman has surrendered to police.

According to police, a 25-year-old woman and two friends were in the Dundas Street and Winston Churchill Boulevard area when their vehicle broke down at around 4 a.m. Monday morning.

Two men pulled up in a van and offered the women a ride home.

While driving, one of the women was sexually assaulted, police allege.

The van then stopped and two of the women were allowed out. The third woman was abducted by the men who then sexually assaulted her, police said.

The woman was able to escape, and police were contacted by a passerby who heard the victim calling for help in the Weston Road and Black Creek Drive area.

In a release issued Tuesday evening, police identified one of two men wanted. Police confirmed the suspect had surrendered to investigators in a release issued Thursday.

Jimmy Minani, 36, of Toronto, faces a number of charges, including two counts of gang sexual assault, kidnapping, and forcible confinement.

Investigators are still looking for a second man known as “Devon.” He was previously described as black with a dark complexion, standing approximately six-foot-one, with a large build.

He was last seen wearing a hoodie, dark jeans and a blue baseball cap.
