Toronto police say a suspect wanted in connection with the deadly shooting at Garden Restaurant last year has turned himself in to police.

In a news release issued Tuesday, investigators say 24-year-old Toronto resident Havard McKenzie surrendered to police at 1 a.m. today.

Gunfire erupted inside the downtown restaurant in the early morning hours of Nov. 16, 2014, leaving 31-year-old Tariq Mohammed dead.

Police previously said that they believed Mohammed was killed in a robbery gone wrong.

Havard has been charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm.

He was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

One other man was arrested last month in connection with the shooting.

Abdirisak Yusuf Ibrahim, 30, is also facing charges of first-degree murder and robbery.
