Toronto District School Board trustees have voted down the idea of selling of portions of school yards.

By rejecting the proposal late Wednesday night, trustees also voted down their capital plan, and the province has told the board that it won’t release funds to the TDSB until a plan is in place.

Trustee Chris Glover said the board is relying on provincial funding to complete the construction of “three or four schools” by September 2013.

A spokesperson from the education ministry confirms the funding freeze will remain in place for now. The TDSB is expected to meet with the province Thursday.
