A 17-year-old boy faces more than a dozen charges in connection with a series of five retail robberies committed over a five-week period.

Police allege that between Feb. 17 and March 25, two gas stations and three variety stores were robbed by the teen while wearing a towel over his face.

In each of the robberies, he demanded cash while armed with a knife, police said.

The specific locations of the five businesses were not provided by police.

The teen, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with five counts of robbery, five counts of disguise with intent, and five counts of weapons dangerous.

He was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
