A 15-year-old girl has succumbed to her injuries in hospital after two vans collided in Brampton early Tuesday morning.

One of the vans was travelling on Torbram Road at around 1 a.m. when it struck the other van in the intersection at Queen Street.

The 15-year-old girl was unconscious at the scene and was taken to Brampton Civic Hospital via ambulance, where she was pronounced dead some time later. Two other people were also transported to hospital as a precaution, however they have since been released.

Police say they are investigating whether or not one of the vans may have run a red light prior to the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is being asked to contact police.
