A 24-year-old Thornhill man was arrested after children aged 12-14 were allegedly lured on Snapchat by a person impersonating a well-known Broadway and television actor.

Investigators with Halton Regional Police said a man was communicating with children on the smartphone messaging app Snapchat using the name myles.erlick.

Myles Erlick is an actor who grew up in Burlington and played the role of Billy Elliott on Broadway and “Noah” on the television series The Next Step.

Police said they contacted Erlick and found that he was “in no way affiliated” to the Snapchat account.

A suspect identified as David Kron faces three counts of child luring, one count of possession of child pornography and one count of distributing child pornography.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Todd Martin at 905-825-4747, ext. 8983.
