Three men will be charged with murder in connection with the death of a 25-year-old man outside a midtown restaurant in December.

Zaher Noureddine died following a violent assault on Yonge Street south of Eglinton Avenue in the early hours of Dec. 30.

Police initially said that Noureddine got into some sort of fight; however they later determined that he was the victim of a violent street robbery and issued a public appeal for information about three men that were seen leaving the scene in a light-coloured four-door sedan.

On Wednesday police arrested William Lordhu Cummins, 29, and Patrick Smith, 26, both of Toronto, and charged them both with robbery and second-degree murder. Police say they will also charge a third man with robbery and second-degree murder. That man is currently in custody on unrelated charges and will not be identified until he is formally charged.
