Three Toronto police officers are being investigated in connection with an alleged sexual assault.

Toronto Police Association President Mike McCormack confirmed the three officers from 51 Division were suspended with pay this past week after a complaint was filed.

McCormack said the complainant is a female officer who works in the parking enforcement unit and that the alleged incident did not occur while the officers were on duty.

No charges have been laid.

The union released a statement saying it was aware of the sex assault allegations against the three officers and will not be commenting further on the case for now.

"In this case, all involved are members of the Toronto Police Association," it said. "We will not be making any further comment until the complaint has been fully investigated."

Toronto Police Spokesperson Mark Pugash also wouldn’t comment on the matter, saying he can’t speak publicly about the case unless criminal charges are laid.
