A North Toronto woman was sexually assaulted by a man she met on the Internet, according to police.

Investigators have released a photo of a suspect, hoping the public will help them identify the man.

The woman told police she had spoken to a man for a few days online before they arranged to meet in person.

The two met on Thursday, Nov. 29 at her apartment in the Avenue Road and Lawrence Avenue West area. The woman said she was sexually assaulted inside her home.

Police are looking to speak to the man who goes by the name Andrew. He is described as being black, about five-foot-eleven and 250 pounds. He has brown eyes, short black hair, a goatee and a beard fashioned as a chin strap. He also has a two-inch scar on the back of the right side of his neck.

Police say the suspect was wearing a dark blue spring jacket, blue jeans and white running shoes with black laces. He was driving a black late model F-150 pick-up truck.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 32 Division at 416-808-3204 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
