The usually quick pre-rush hour pace on Highway 427 ground to a full stop Tuesday morning after a transport truck rolled near a ramp linking it to Highway 401.

The truck rolled over on the ramp linking the southbound Highway 427 to the westbound 401 sometime before 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, according to traffic spotters.

It spilled a significant amount of diesel fuel onto the roadway as it rolled.

The OPP says the ramp between the southbound Highway 427 and the westbound lanes of Highway 401 is closed to allow for cleanup and removal of the truck.

The truck was removed from the highway ramp and it re-opened to traffic around 8 a.m.
