Police were dealing with two separate calls of falling glass in downtown Toronto Tuesday.

Two people suffered minor injuries as a result.

The first report of glass falling came in just after noon from the King West neighbourhood, just west of Spadina.

Police say a 29-year-old man suffered a gash to his head as he walked by Weslodge restaurant as shards of glass crashed onto the street from the 10th floor of a condo located just above the restaurant.

The balcony glass had completely shattered. Property managers were contacted and the area was promptly secured. Authorities are still trying to determine what caused the glass to break.

Hours later a second call for falling glass came from Bay Street and Dundas Avenue.

A 48-year-old woman reported having a cut arm. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

Toronto police said in that case, an old window broke, spilling glass down below.
