A male has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a vehicle hopped a curb, crashed into a tree and burst into flames during the Monday morning rush hour in Scarborough.
It happened on Warden Avenue near McNicoll Avenue at around 8:20 a.m.
According to Toronto Fire, the male was trapped in the vehicle following the crash.
As a result, paramedics say the man suffered burns to his legs that are serious enough that he will have to be transported to a burn unit.
A second patient, who was a bystander, also suffered minor injuries in the crash and has been taken to hospital.
Warden Avenue is closed north of McNicoll Avenue as police investigate.
