A 74-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in Toronto’s east end, according to police.

Toronto EMS said the incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday near Victoria Park Avenue and O’Connor Drive, just south of Eglinton Avenue East.

The woman was earlier rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 76-year-old man was also struck in the same incident. He was stabilized at the scene by paramedics, but was taken to a trauma centre in serious condition.

Police are currently working to confirm the identities of the victims and the relationship between them.

Charges against the driver of the van are pending, police said.

The intersection is currently closed as police continue to investigate.
