Toronto police are looking for at least one suspect after a man in his 50's was stabbed in the neck at a St. James Town apartment building early Tuesday morning.

The victim underwent emergency surgery for serious injuries after the stabbing at 275 Bleecker St., near Wellesley and Parliament streets, police told CP24.

The man was in stable condition in hospital later in the morning, Det. Ian MacDonald told CP24 reporter George Lagogianes outside the building.

MacDonald said officers found the victim after someone reported an assault at about 2:30 a.m.

MacDonald said the victim is a resident of the Toronto Community Housing Corp. building.

Police have not released a description of the suspect.
