Warrants have been issued for two men wanted in connection with a shooting in Oshawa earlier this month, Durham Regional Police say.
According to investigators, at around 9 p.m. on April 4, three male suspects forced their way into an apartment in the area of Simcoe Street South and Elm Street. One of the suspects, police say, was carrying a handgun.
Police say one of the four occupants of the apartment was taken into another room where he was shot in the abdomen.
The suspects, according to police, fled the scene and the victim was taken to a Toronto-area trauma hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Police say they do not believe it is a random incident.
Anthony Murray, 27, is facing multiple charges in connection with the incident including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, breaking and entering, use of a firearm during the commission of an offence and careless use of a firearm.
Christopher Cameron, 47, of Oshawa, is facing 11 charges including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, breaking and entering and using a firearm during the commission of an offence.
Images of the suspects have been released by investigators.
Police say the men are considered armed and dangerous and anyone who spots them is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
Officers are investigating if a third male is always involved in the incident.
