Travellers heading out of one of Toronto’s airports Thursday night could be in for some unexpected headaches.

Passengers using Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport will have to contend with a number of flight delays and cancellations because of current bad weather conditions in the city and in the northeastern United States.

Porter Airlines said there are a large number of affected flights to Montreal, Newark, Ottawa, Thunder Bay and Timmins, as well as problems to Boston, Windsor, Washington and Chicago.

Travellers are encouraged to check the status of their flight before heading to the airport.

Customers affected by the weather-related issues will have change fees to their itinerary waived, Porter said.
