Canada celebrates its 147th birthday Tuesday and despite a number of closures for the statutory holiday, there are plenty of ways to keep yourself entertained on July 1.

Fingers crossed showers don’t spoil the fun Tuesday. Environment Canada says there will be a high of 27 C and a 60 per cent chance of rain in the morning, afternoon and early evening. According to the national weather agency, showers will likely die down late in the evening and with any luck, just in time for the fireworks.

Fireworks:

Fireworks are, of course, customary to mark the holiday and in Toronto, there are several displays happening across the city, starting Monday night.

OLG “Canada Eve” fireworks @ Harbourfront:

Canada’s Wonderland: The amusement park will host fireworks on July 1st starting at around 10 p.m. (weather permitting).
