A woman was arrested after she allegedly assaulted two flight attendants on board a plane travelling from London to Toronto.

RCMP Sgt. Al LeBlanc told the Canadian Press that the Air Canada flight had to be diverted to Halifax following the incident at around 12:30 p.m.

The RCMP was waiting at the gate as the plane arrived at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport, according to a tweet by CTV’s Atlantic bureau chief Todd Battis.

The RCMP were then seen boarding the plane when it arrived, witnesses said.

There were 239 people on board the plane at the time.
