A 54-year-old woman has succumbed to her injuries in hospital after a two-vehicle accident in Whitby on Friday afternoon.
The woman was travelling westbound on Victoria Street when she crossed the median and struck the rear axle of an eastbound tractor-trailer near Thickson Road, according to police.
The woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but was pronounced dead some time later.
Two passengers in the woman’s vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Police say they have ruled out alcohol as a factor in the collision.
