Investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating a 29-year-old woman for her alleged involvement in several human trafficking-related incidents in Markham.
An investigation was launched Friday after a female victim came forward to police with information about a “suspected pimp.”
As a result of the subsequent investigation, police have now identified a woman wanted in contention with human trafficking offences.
Details were not provided by police on the number or nature of the incidents. Information on when the alleged incidents took place was also not provided by investigators.
“Members of the community are advised not to confront the suspect if they see her, but call police immediately,” a release Monday afternoon said.
Investigators believe there may be more victims.
A warrant is being sought for the arrest of Pardis Senoubari Abedini.
She is described as five-foot-three, 200 pounds, with a heavy build, and long black wavy hair, and brown eyes.
