Police are investigating after two suspects — one of them armed with a handgun — burst into an east-end convenience store, locked a teller in a room and then made off with a quantity of cash.

According to Const. Jenifferji Sidhu, the assailants entered the store on O’Connor Drive in the vicinity of Eglinton and Victoria Park avenues at around 1:05 a.m.

The suspects then locked the worker in a room, obtained a quantity of cash and fled the scene, Sidhu told CP24.

The first suspect is described as black, about 24-years-old, five-foot-eight to five-foot-nine with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black mask and black-coloured clothing with a hood.

The second suspect is described as white with a red mask. He was last seen carrying a black firearm with a brown handle.

The crime took place about 25 minutes after an armed robbery about 6 kilometres away at Donlands Station, but Sidhu would not say whether the two incidents may be related.

Police are also seeking two male suspects in the Donlands Station robbery.
