AURORA, Ont. -- York Regional Police say they have arrested a robbery suspect who was armed with a hatchet early this morning.

Police say the man entered a Mac's convenience store in Aurora where he assaulted a store employee.

He allegedly stole items and fled on foot.

The employee was a 73-year-old man who was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Charges brought against 49-year-old Leroy Robinson include robbery and aggravated assault.

He is set to appear in a Newmarket court on Tuesday.
