Police in Peel Region are on the hunt for a Grey Cup ring stolen during a recent break-in at a home in Mississauga.

According to police, suspects broke into the home on Milton Avenue, in the Highway 10 and Queen Elizabeth Way area, sometime between noon on Friday, Jan. 11 and 4:30 p.m. on Monday , Jan. 14.

Police say that a number of items, including the 1965 Grey Cup championship ring, were removed by the suspects.

The ring belongs to Bobby Kuntz, who played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Kuntz and his teammates were presented the rings commemorating their victory in 2005, 40 years after the win, as the team was financially unable to provide players with rings at the time of their championship.

Kuntz passed away in February 2011.

The ring was stolen from the home of one of Kuntz’s family members.
