Toronto police, with the help of Interpol and authorities in Greece, have arrested a man wanted for first-degree murder in connection with the death of a University of Toronto office clerk in 2011.
In a release issued Wednesday evening, police announced that Mladen “Michael” Ivezic had been arrested in Athens on Jan. 8.
Ivezic had been sought by police for his alleged involvement in connection with the death of Allan Lanteigne in 2011.
Lanteigne, 49, was found dead inside his Ossington Avenue home on March 3, 2011.
Police said they were called to the address after a co-worker grew concerned when Lanteigne failed to show up for work.
In November, police announced that they had arrested Lanteigne’s 32-year-old husband Demitry Papasotiriou, of Toronto, for first-degree murder in connection with his death.
“At its root, this is a domestic homicide,” Toronto police Det. Tam Bui said during the press conference in November.
At the time, a warrant was also issued for Ivezic.
