Melissa Grelo
Co-host, CP24 Breakfast
Melissa Grelo joined the CP24 news team in July 2006.
She started as a writer, remote host and anchor for both CP24 and CityNews, and previously held positions in Barrie as the commuter specialist and general assignment reporter for Breakfast Television and A-Channel News.
Prior to her career in broadcasting, Melissa was a grade seven and eight teacher in Nobleton, north of Toronto. Melissa has covered some of Toronto's biggest breaking news stories including the Queen Street fire and the TTC strike.
In 2005, she travelled to Louisiana and Florida with Magna founder Frank Stronach to cover his work helping survivors struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Melissa is devoted to getting to the heart of stories that matter most to Torontonians. She is also very proud of the diversity of the city and how CP24 represents that diversity.
"Having been a teacher, I see how powerful positive, multi-ethnic representation in the media can be on the younger generation."
When away from the newsroom, Melissa enjoys horseback riding and coaching, fitness training, reading and travelling.
A believer in goodwill, Grelo's charity work includes raising funds for the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) and the Community Association for Riding for the Disabled (CARD) through her family's horseback riding demonstrations.
