A Toronto police officer is being treated for broken bones after a crash between two on-duty motorcycle cops on Friday morning.

The officers had been driving their bikes northbound on Dufferin Street when one slipped on streetcar tracks while trying to change lanes.

He knocked down the motorcycle of the other officer as he fell, both going down near the intersection of Dufferin and King Street.

One suffered a broken collarbone and various other injuries, but is said to be breathing. He is being treated by emergency workers at the scene, while the other is uninjured.

The crash occurred at about 9:10 a.m., and has slowed rush hour traffic in the area. It had been raining for much of the morning and the streets were slippery at the time of the crash.

Both officers are members of traffic services division.
