Police find shooting victim screaming in between houses

Police find a man shot in the torso in Vaughan.

Police responding to a call in Vaughan last night found a shooting victim screaming as he lay wounded between two houses.

A 26-year-old man was shot in the upper torso on Unity Crescent near Dufferin Street, north of Steeles Avenue.

The man has undergone surgery and is in stable condition. Officers have only a vague description of a suspect who is believed to be a black male, about 20-years-old and seen wearing a dark hoodie and blue jeans.

Police had brought in a helicopter to search for the suspect.
