A popular restaurant in Chinatown has been shut down by Toronto Public Health after a rat was caught on camera roaming inside.

A passerby walking on the street shot a video of a rat in the window of Happy Seven restaurant on 358 Spadina Avenue, and posted it on a popular Toronto blog website Wednesday.

A public health representative told CP24 the eatery would be closed down after they saw the rodent on television Thursday morning.

An inspector was sent to the restaurant on October 2, but officials said there was no evidence of a rodent problem then.

The entire city block, which is in the Dundas Street and Spadina Avenue area, will be inspected, the rep says.
