A gun fight between two people may have been what called police out to the Entertainment District early Sunday morning for a high-risk takedown, investigators say.

Police received reports of shots being fired near Richmond and Simcoe Streets just before 3:30 a.m.

Heavily armed Emergency Task Force officers descended on a white stretch limo after a suspect fired shots and jumped into the vehicle.

Once the ETF arrived, they removed passengers one-by-one until all seven limo occupants were taken into custody. Officers held riffles as the passengers stepped out and were taken into custody.

Police allege a patron from a nearby club may have fired the shots before jumping into the limo. They also found two types of shell casings on the ground near the scene, suggesting there may have been a shootout, police say.

"Some of the shells hit two vehicles that we're aware of so far in the parking lot," says Det. Peter Karpow.

A 21-year-old male is facing several charges.
