Nathan Downer

Remote Host/Anchor

Nathan Downer

Nathan joins the CP24 family after years of experience in radio and television.

In the summer of 2000, Nathan made his debut in the media business as co-host and producer of the CHIN radio weekly talk show Insight. Less than a year after his start, Nathan moved on to launch and host a sports show on FLOW 93.5 fm.

A few months after being hired at FLOW 93.5, Nathan's on-air presence quickly grew. He became producer and co-host of a weekly talk show before earning the coveted position of news director.

In 2002 Nathan jumped to television and worked as a sideline reporter covering university football and basketball. At that time he began to make several guest appearances on sports television shows, including TSN's Off the Record. He was also hired to write the 'last page' for the Raptor Insider Magazine.

One year after making his television debut, Nathan joined Global TV where he worked as a reporter, earning three RTNDA awards along the way - including a national prize for a feature story.

Nathan sees his career in the broadcasting industry as a tool he can use to educate, enlighten and entertain. He enjoys hosting many special community events and is an active member of the Canadian Association of Black Journalists. He's also involved with charity work, including Camp Jumoke, which helps children with Sickle Cell Anemia

Nathan studied at the University of Toronto and George Brown College.
