Toronto could face yet another garbage strike after a large majority of the city's outdoor workers voted in favour of job action during a recent ballot.

The results, released Wednesday night, show 89 per cent of the city's outdoor workers are in favour of walking off the job if their contract needs are not met. In addition to garbage collectors, the contract covers paramedics, sewage and water workers.

The workers, members of CUPE Local 416, haven't set a strike date at this time. They have been working without a contract since Dec. 31.

The city and union say they will resume contract talks on Thursday morning.
