Rubina Ahmed is a reporter and anchor, for Toronto's only 24-hour local news channel.

Rubina's broadcasting career began in 2000 as a reporter for CFMT South Asian Newsweek (now called OMNI). She moved across the pond to Birmingham, England in 2002 to work as a reporter for BBC Radio before joining London's BBC World Service. From 2005 to the present, Rubina found herself back in Toronto serving as a national newsreader on CBC Radio.

As an associate producer for ABC News in 2001, she covered reactions from Islamabad, Pakistan in the days following Sept.11 and leading to the Afghan War.

A native of Scarborough, Rubina earned a degree in Mass Communications and Sociology from York University and a Journalism diploma from Humber College. When not hard at work, Rubina volunteers with community homeless shelters and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
