Hundreds of thousands of people took in the final parade of Pride week festivities despite showers that threatened to hamper the party early in the day.

Dozens of colourful floats, people dressed in costumed, and even a Michael Jackson impersonator made their way down the parade route.

The roads reopened around 6 p.m., except for Church Street, which will be closed for the post-parade party.

The parade marks the end of a very important week for Toronto's economy, as downtown hotels and bars and restaurants all do big business.

Shop owners along Church Street say it is as busy as the December holiday season, with some bringing in extra staff.

Pride is expected to inject more than 80 million dollars into the local economy.
