The excitement for Caribana is building as the Junior Carnival Parade kicked off Saturday morning.
More than 1500 children took to the streets in full costume beside 20 floats at Yorkgate mall at Jane Street and Finch Avenue W.
Steelpan music, DJs, food and a marketplace were all part of the party, which was hosted by CP24's weather specialist Nneka Elliott.
Once the parade was over, teams of teenagers wearing Caribana volunteer t-shirts began the post-parade clean up. CP24's George Lagogianes says the crowds were tidy on Saturday, and crowds didn't leave much garbage on the streets.

There's lots of other events in the city on Saturday.
The 21st annual Beaches International Jazz festival continues at Woodbine Park at Lake Shore Blvd. and Coxwell Avenue, with three separate stages. Fifteen bands are scheduled to perform Saturday. Admission is free and events continue through the week.
The Just for Laughs Festival takes over Yonge-Dundas Square again tonight, so Yonge Street will be closed between Dundas Street and Queen Street from 5 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m.
John Cleese of Monty Python, Fawlty Towers and A Fish Called Wanda will host a gala event at Massey Hall.
The 37th annual Festival of India continues throughout the weekend at the Pier 27 parking lot at Yonge and Queens Quay.
The Fusion of Taste Festival, which features food from all over the world will close Albion Road between islington Avenue and Thisle Down Boulevard until 9 p.m.
